The Linden Woods Fall Classic (LWFC) was founded in 2004 and is organized by an arm’s length committee of the École Van Walleghem School Parent Council. Our original objective was to raise funds to build the EVOS play structure located on the school grounds. That goal was
achieved in 2008. Since then, the LWFC evolved to include, attract, and benefit the wider community. This has included funding site improvements such as an improved water drainage system in the playground, installation of a new walking and running path, more play areas, planting of shade trees, installation of the shade structure and donating over $80,000 to the Pembina Trails Breakfast Programs. To date, the LWFC has raised over $190,000 for school and
community projects!
In 2020, like so many other events, the LWFC was put on temporary hiatus. After a 3-year break, we are delighted to be back and included in the Manitoba Runners’ Association road running series and Youth Series.
There is something for everyone at the LWFC. Race, run, volunteer, or cheer for your family, friends and neighbors. Participate as an individual or a family - It's a great way to get to know
the families in our school and in your neighborhood.
